Ferozepur, July 10, 2016:   The Indian Railways move to renovation 13 stations in Ferozepur Division for beautification and cleanliness by meeting expenses by leveraging commercial development on the railway land around the railway stations, will now have special focus to keep alive history of nation and associated with young generation of the particular state by providing its walls free of cost for painting from historical pages.

 

Giving information about the scheme, Anuj Parkash, DRM said, the railway has given scheme the name as ‘Living History” so that it does not take times to understand it by the people. He said, In the plan there is a provision to keep alive historical pictures of national level, Punjab and districts by displaying them on the railway walls through paintings so that the coming generation is put wiser as to how much important is our country.

 

He said, the railways have decided in case any institution or NGO or company is interested to paint the walls of the railways depicting the historical events, the railway will provide the space on the walls without any charges even by putting their name below the painting.  He, however, made it clear that this scheme will not be available for any private company.

 

The painting on the walls of railways could be only relating to martyrs who sacrificed for the freedom of the country or historical building.  He said, by doing so, the railway will not be benefitted but the will definitely be making efforts to keep alive  the vanishing history of the country.

 

DRM further said that in case anyone wants to become a part of this scheme, he must submit an application and drawing of the painting and script for approval.  The launching of the scheme will be announced shortly and in the meantime, those interested may keep themselves ready with the material for display on the walls.
