Punjab Vigilance nabs Kanungo taking bribe

Ferozepur December 11, 2018:  The Vigilance Bureau team today caught Pardeep Kumar, Kanungo posted at Tehsil Guruharsahai, red-handed taking bribe.

Giving this information, DSP Vigilance said a complaint was registered by the farmer namely Jaswinder Singh of village Sharih Wala Brar that Kanungo is demanding a bribe in lieu of doing some government work – demarcation of passage in the land.

He further informed that as per the statement of the farmer, a trap was laid and vigilance team members alongwith shadow witness Wazir Singh of village Kutbe wala and official witnesses – Dr.Rajmohan Singh Vet. Officer Vet Polytechnic and Rachhpal Singh, Clerk DEO Sec office,  arrested the Kanungo red-handed and an amount of Rs.6000 taken as bribe from the farmer was also recovered from him.
