7.58 lac MTs target for wheat procurement in Ferozepur

Ferozepur 28 March 2017 : As per the guidelines of Punjab Government, the purchase of wheat procurement will start from Ist April,  so all the officials associated with purchase work of wheat of all mandis of district should complete all the work till 31st of march so that the farmers do not have to face any kind of inconvenience during the purchase of wheat. Sh. Ramveer, Deputy Commissioner gave these guideliness after assessing the advance arrangements for the procurement of wheat with officials of various agencies at District Administrative Complex. On this occasion Sh. Balraj Singh, D.F.S.C. was also present.

            Deputy Commissioner Sh. Ramvir said that there are 127 centres established  for the purchase of wheat this time and there is probability of purchase of 7.58 lakh metric ton by various agencies as compared to 6.58 lakh metre ton of last year. Deputy Commissioner also said that purchasing agencies made all arrangements for wheat lifting, gunny bags and transportation. He said that any violation will not be tolerated in this work. He said that the DMO would confirm the provision of drinking water, power to facilitate and all other arrangements so that the farmers do not have to face any kind of difficulty during the wheat season.

            Deputy Commissioner said that all agencies will have to arrange essential gunny bags for wheat storage. He said that arrangements of cleanliness in the mandis  during the purchasing season will also be ensured. He said that district food and Civil supply departments would ensure the transportation and labour arrangements for transporting the wheat.  He appealed to the farmers to bring only dry wheat in the mandis so that they will not have to face any difficulty while selling their crops.
