Ferozepur Police intensify Drink and Drive checks with breathalyzers

Ferozepur, September 4, 2024: Ferozepur Police have ramped up their crackdown on drink and drive offenders by deploying breathalyzers and speed monitoring devices as part of a strict new campaign to enforce traffic rules. Under the supervision of DSP (Investigation) Virinder Singh Khosa, the evening operation targeted drivers who were under the influence of alcohol, aiming to reduce the risk of accidents on the roads. under the new regulations, around 150 challans have already been issued for drink and drive violations involving various vehicles.

“We have initiated rigorous checks using breathalyzers to catch those driving while drunk,” said DSP Khosa. “Strict action is necessary to curb the increasing number of accidents caused by impaired driving.” He also appealed to the public, advising those attending functions or parties where alcohol is served to bring along a designated driver who is sober. “This simple precaution can help prevent unfortunate incidents and ensure the safety of everyone on the road,” he emphasized.
