Ferozepur: 48,000 ltrs ‘lahan’, 250 illicit liquor bottles seized
Ferozepur, June 25, 2021: In a raid conduced under the supervision of Gurbakhash Singh Excise Inspector and police force, in the enclaves of river Satluj in the surrounds of villages Ali ke, Habib ke , Nehanganwale chughe , Chandiwala , Raje Ki Gatti , Chakar Da Bedha & Near Puggar Di Motor.
The illicit liquor business, using ‘lahan’ (raw material for making liquor), has been going on in border areas for a long time. To check the illegal manufacture and sale of illicit liquor, the raids are conduced as a part of operations to control it, said excise official.
During the raid approximately 48,000 litres of lahan and 250 bottles of illicit liquor recovered and destroyed on the spot being unclaimed and to avoid its misuse. However, 24 tarpaulins, 2 iron drum , 1 rubber tube have been taken into custody, said excise official.
