Police nab smuggler with heroin, weapon, Pak currency from near Zero Line
Ferozepur, January 9, 2021 : The vigilant CIA team of Punjab police today claimed to have nabbed one smuggler with recovery of heroin, pistol, live cartridges and Pakistan currency from near Indo-Pak Zero Line.
Disclosing this at a press conference here on Saturday, Balbir Singh, SP(Investigation) said, Working on a tip-off of January 5, the team headed by Ravinderpal Singh, DSP along with Parminder Singh, CIA team incharge arrested one drug smuggler identified as Dalbir Singh alias Dallu today and recovered 250 gm heroin. Later on in a joint operation with BSF, 5 kg heroin, one pistol, 2 magazines, 18 live cartridges and Ra,1,100 Pakistani currency at the designated place across the fencing near Indo-Pak Zero Line, near Hussainiwala. The recovery was made from Gate No.191, Pillar No.191/7, Hussainiwala Post Barrier 136 Bn BSF.
SSP Bhupinder Singh informed that during further investigations more clues for recovery are expected to come on surface.
