7 Days’  NSS Camp at Govt. High School, Sandhe Hasham

Ferozepur, October 11, 2015: Under the National Service Scheme (NSS), 7 days’ camp – 8-14 October, 2015 – was organized by the Education Department at Government High School, Sandhe Hasham near Ferozepur.

Special campings are organized generally on various developmental issues of national issues and the motto of this camp was – Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. In all, 50 students participated in the special camping who stayed in the school campus, away from their parents, cooked food for themselves and cleaned the entire campus.

Welcoming the Chief Guest, Dr.Satinder Singh and key note speaker, a social activists, Harish Monga, Devinder Nath, Programme Officer said, “Special Camping forms an integral part of National Service Scheme. It has special appeal to the youth as it provides unique opportunities to the students for group living, collective experience sharing and constant interaction with community.”

Speaking on this occasion, Dr.Satinder Singh, National Awardee sharing his experiences of life and NSS camps of his school time said, besides concentrating on your studies, the students should set the targets in their life. He suggested the students to write down your aims and hang it in your room so that daily you may see it to do something to achieve the targets.

Harish Monga, a social activist, showed concern over lacking behind the developed countries. He appealed to the students to learn something from these camps and come out a different student for their school and a son for their parents. Your personality should itself speak that you have learned something from a weeklong camp and dedicate themselves for the cause of development of nation.

During the interaction, five students namely, Gurvinder Singh, Mandeep Singh, Tarsem Singh, Rachhpal Singh and Bikramjit Singh –  who were earlier having inhibitions of speaking on the dais, shared their experience and assured to be different from now wards besides helping the parents in the day today work.

Gurbaksh Singh, Computer Faculty was also present on this occasion.
