Ferozepur farmer’s son  duped of Rs.10 lac by 5 persons for study visa to Canada

Ferozepur, June 13, 2023: Reports related to persons getting duped by travel agents and individuals  are not dying down but are swelling every passing day. Another case of an innocent farmer Balveer Singh of village Madhre in Ferozpur falling prey to five persons identified as by Dewinder Singh, Meenakshi, Paramjit Singh, Sukhdeep Singh, Karamjit Singh of Moga, by the complainant Balveer Singh posing as travel agent, has come to the fore. Balveer Singh, a farmer by profession, has been duped of around Rs 10 lac by five persons of Moga, for sending his son on study visa to Canada but they are still at large. The farmer wanted to send his son Harman Singh to Canada for his better prospects, on study basis, for which these persons came in his son’s contact, who was studying in ITI at Moga. He  approached them, who, in turn, promised him to send him to Canada. It is pertinent to mention that there are already hundreds of children in Canada, who have been victimized by agents/individuals of sending them abroad, are demanding justice from the Government of Canada for their future, and on the other hand, even today innocent people of Punjab are falling prey to these illegal and cheater agents. Farmer Balveer Singh of border village Madhare of Ferozepur has also become a victim.  He said by showing big dreams, he paid Rs.9,98,000 in the accounts of individuals, in the name of sending his son on study basis to abroad and after that everything went in vain. The farmer, however said that I was returned the money through cheques with a promise to get the same  cleared from bank through an affidavit, but the same were dishonoured when presented in the bank. Now the farmer is moving from pillar to post for the last one year but the Ferozepur police has now filed an FIR against these pigeon-hawking accused in Sadar Ferozepur police station on March 3, 2023 but the accused are still out of reach of the police and the victim farmer is still pleading with the police to arrest these accused alleged to be agents and bring them to justice. The aggrieved farmer has also demanded from the Chief Minister of Punjab that strict action should be taken against such  persons so that the future of many more sons and daughters of Punjab is not at stake and the innocent farmers of Punjab do not does not become victim of these travel agents. When SP Investigation Ferozepur  Randhir Kumar said  that today this matter has been brought to my notice, Ferozepur police will take action against these accused and bring justice to this victim farmer. Added here, one Harpreet Singh running a Red Leaf Marriage Bureau and also working with Silver Star Immigration at Jagraon and Moga.  He too has filed an application with SSP Moga against the same five persons for cheating 7 students for getting the study visa for Canada who had paid around Rs 65 lacs to me which was further given to Devinder Singh for depositing with concerned colleges.  The said amount was reported to be deposited with college but later on taken back by mailing them and then started making excuses and did not arrange study visa to the students.
