6 mobiles, 23 tobacco sachets, cigarettes seized from jail, 4 inmates booked
Ferozepur, October 29, 2022: On a tip-off and during the search operation, six mobiles, 23 sachets of tobacco have been seized from inside the jail and four inmates and one person who managed the throw of packets inside the jail, have been booked along with unidentified persons.
Earlier also, on Friday, one prisoner and three under trial prisoners were booked for threatening the jail officers and misbehaving with the employees. With the frequent recovery of banned items inside the jail, the security arrangements at the entry points need to be tightened otherwise the purpose of keeping the criminals away from outer world is lost.
As per the information, one mobile was recovered from Balwinder Singh alias Khundri was recovered during the search operation of block number 1, carried out by Kashmir Chand, Assistant Superintendent.
In another operation, on the basis of tip-off, one mobile was found from barrack number 1 as unclaimed in the bathroom, one from prisoner Ajay from block number 1, barrack number 4, while on opening of two packets thrown from outside, arranged by under trial prisoner Gautam by making a call to Sunil resident of village Balluana – were also found thrown from outside in barrack number 1 and on opening, 23 sachets of tobacco, three packets of cigarettes, 3 mobiles were with battery and without SIM cards were found.
In both the recoveries, a case has been registered on the complaint of Assistant Superintendents Kashmir Chand and Jasvir Chand against prisoners Balwinder Singh alias Khundri, Ajay, Jaskaran, Gautam, and Sunil alongwith unidentified person.
