Dr.T.S.Sidhu, Director Campus welcoming the Government of Punjab, read out the achievements of the Campus in various spheres and future plans. He said, Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus is the only institute among the Government Engineering Colleges of Punjab, which has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), NAAC and granted Autonomous status by University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

Addressing the students with various historical references of visit of Swami Vivekananda to Chicago, rule over India by East India Company, Battle of Plassy, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Government of Punjab, confidently said, “For making the dream India of 21st Century,  we have to see towards the citizens of the country, youths of the country and India is East India in whole of the world”.

“Only 2.5 crores students are studying and the pass-out students – who are 65 percent in age group of less than 35 years and progress of India depends upon them – must introspect about the  of the betterment of the nation as the 21st Century of which 15 years have already passed, belongs to India.”  He said, we should remember the revolutionaries, who sacrificed their lives for the between 1857-1947  – the period of 100 years was not ruled by East India Company but  by Maharani of England, he added.

We have to keep an eye of the students studying in the college and universities and the figure is not that big and the future progress of the country depends on them.   If they don’t think about the country and 21st Century dream, and are involved in social evils like drugs or comes under the influence of someone and treat the country as second and consider the family and himself as great as to what would happen if this type of people come forward.

He appealed to the pass out students repay the sacrifices of their parents for giving education to you and seriously think over  India of 21st Century which will be on your strength and pledge to remove in case there is any obstacle on this path for which the SBS Tech Campus have high expectations from all of you.

In fact, these words were an indirect indication to what has happened recently in the Jawaharlal Nehru University.

The honour of any country depends upon of its children and citizens.  The Britishers have ruled over India – known as Golden Sparrow – 1000 years and it was not their recognition but our weaknesses.  Despite having 565 princely states in those days, they could not work together as they were not ready to die for the common cause and this is the reason that our country remained salve. Prof.Solanki said.
