Youth Services Deptt holds district level ‘Advocacy Meeting’, releases grant to 30 Red Ribbon Clubs in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, September 15, 2023: According to the orders of the Director Youth Services Department, Punjab State AIDS Control Society, Chandigarh, with the support of Davinder Singh Lotte, Assistant Director, Youth Services Department, Ferozepur, District Level Advocacy Meeting of Program Coordinators of Red Ribbon Clubs working in the district, Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University conducted at Ferozepur. During this meeting, the annual grant for the year 2023-24 of Rs.7,000 per club, was released to 30 Red Ribbon Clubs of the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Lotte said, the Red Ribbon Clubs g in the colleges are working against drugs, HIV/AIDS, TB. The youth and general public are made aware about prevention and blood donation and the youth are motivated to donate blood and the work to be done by the Road Ribbon Clubs during the year 2023-24 was also reviewed in the meeting. He said that an anti-drug campaign would be launched in the district to stop the growing craze of drugs in Punjab.

Meanwhile, Counselor Monica Bedi was diagnosed with HIV by the Ferozepur Health Department. Detailed information about AIDS was shared and discussions about AIDS were held with the volunteers of Red Ribbon Clubs. Professor Gurjeevan Singh, Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University gave his important ideas to stop the growing narcotics.
