Women Scientists to pursue research on attacks in Wireless Sensor Networks

Ferozepur: Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus Ferozepur, a Premiere Technical Education Institution has received a research grant of Rs. 22.69 lac from the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Dr. T. S. Sidhu, Director of the institution, informed that the grant has been sanctioned under the Women Scientists Scheme (WOS-A) to Dr. Monika Sachdeva (Scientist Mentor), Associate Professor, Department of CSE and Er. Navjot Sidhu, a Ph.D. Research Scholar, Department of CSE, of the campus for a research project entitled: Experimental Testbed for validation of network layer attacks in wireless sensor networks.

Dr. T. S. Sidhu, has congratulated the department of Computer Science & Engineering on this achievement and highlighted that the main aim of women scientists scheme is to provide opportunities to women scientists and technologists for pursuing research in the field of basic or applied sciences in frontier areas of science and engineering. With this grant, institute will setup Wireless Sensor Networks laboratory to carry out research for finding security solutions to defend against various network layer attacks in wireless senor networks.

Dr. Monika Sachdeva has told that the research proposal was prepared with the unwavering guidance of Dr. T. S. Sidhu, who always motivate faculty to fetch research grants from government agencies and provide total freedom to faculty for carrying out quality research work.
