Ferozepur, June 8, 2024: The Bollywood actor, Kangana Ranaut, who is not new to controversies, has courted another controversy by linking the Chandigarh airport incident to “rising terrorism and extremism in Punjab”. Her statement after the alleged slapping incident at the Chandigarh Airport by Kulwinder Kaur, an employee of CISF security staff, was condemned today by Gurdeep Singh Dhillon, Vice President, Punjab Jat Maha Sabha.
Earlier, even the farmer’s bodies had come forward in support of Kulwinder Kaur and also condemned the action of suspending her. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said Kangana Ranaut has been making false statements about farmers before, as a result of which this incident has happened today. Even her statement on Punjab is not correct, we condemn it. Talking to X, Kangana released a video statement, when asked why she slapped me, she said that she supported the farmer’s movement.
Kangana earlier after giving the controversial statement that the women had joined farm protests for Rs.100 tendered an apology, as per her mother’s statement which ended the matter. Now, Vinay Kajla, DIG, CISF with whom the complaint was lodged by Kangana had said that Kulwinder Kaur, slapped the MP in a rush of blood remembering the MP’s past statement about women participating in the farmer’s protest as her family was also part of that event. She is apologetic now.
Dhillon, who is also a member of PPCC from Guruharsahai said, The matter could have ended with the statement of apology by Kangana about the women joining the farmer’s protest and Kulwinder Kaur apologetic after the incident, but I link the incident with the election results of BJP after going. However, it is a matter of investigation now.
He said Kangana is now a member of the highest ‘Panchayat’ (Parliament) of India. Whatever has happened is now a matter of investigation. He asked the BJP leaders when the Prime Minister visited Punjab, he addressed the terrorists in Punjab. I appeal to the state and Centre BJP leaders, to restrain Kangana strongly from making controversial statements and playing with the sentiments of Punjab which is now a peaceful state and we will not disturb the peace in the state. In case action is to be taken in this incident, then it should be against Kangana too, he added.
