Under “Halke Vich Captain” – Captain Amrinder Singh visits Zira
Ferozepur, Under “Halke Vich Captain” launched programme, Captain Amarinder Singh today visited Zira Constituency, to give a much-needed tonic to the Congress campaign ahead of the Assembly elections due in early 2017.
More than 15,000 people turned up to listen to Captain Amarinder Singh.
The campaign that was kicked off from Jalalabad, to reach to the people, the assembly constituency of deputy chief minister and Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, on June 19 has started dominating the political discourse in Punjab.
The Congress strategy is that people must see Amarinder as Captain of Punjab and not an erstwhile Maharaja of Patiala. All his programmes have been prepared to project him as Punjab-da-Captain,” said Karanveer associated in the various programmes of Congress.
The people of the area apprised Captain Amarinder Singh about the problems being faced by them, where Senior Congress leaders, Harpreet Singh Hero, Chairman, Rural Development Cell, Inderjit Singh Zira, Chairman, Kissan Cello Punjab and Kulbir Singh Zia, Deputy President Lok Sabha Constuency Khadoor Sahim, Preetraj Hero were present.
In question-answer session, the issues of sand mafia and people depressed from Pearl Company also figured. Captain said, the farmers’ problem will be solved on priority on coming of Congress into power. A Bill will also be passed to stop the attachment of landed property of the debt ridden farmers.
He further said that Rs.56,000 crore liability will also be borne by the government on coming of Congress in power.
Clearing the doubt about the closure of atta-dal scheme with the change of Akali government, he said, we will provide tea and sugar at the cheaper rates also with atta and daal.
Striking on the sand mafia, he said, the farmer in whose land, the sand is extracted, is its owner.
He said, Punjab is of Punjabis and people will not entertain Delhiwalas rather Congress will form independent government and there will be complete sweep of Akali Dal.
What to say of ruling over Punjab by outsiders, we will allow them to keep their foot, he added.
