Under DAY-NULM, Punjab Skilled Development Mission, students organize Fashion Show
Ferozepur, April 13 2021: Under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission – DAY-NULM, the students of the fashion designer course organized Fashion Show at Skill Centre in New Generation Multi-skills Complex.
The Chief Guest of the function was Sarbjit Singh, Block Mission Manager. Subhash Kakkar, Chairman of the Centre was also present on this occasion. As many as 55 students participated in this event presented a show by wearing beautifully designed dresses. Navdeep Asjija and Jaswant Singh joined as judges of the show staged under the tutelage of Sangeeta followed by a cultural programme. Apart from this, the skill work exhibited by the students likes –cutting of garments, stitching, dyeing and embroidery by one and all.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarbjit Singh, BMM said, under the skilled development programmes of the government the students aspire to earn sustainable livelihoods after completing the courses. He said, the students undergoing the training at the skilled center are provided a government certificate and they are also supported in taking up self-employment opportunities for a sustainable source of revenue.
The students as well as their families were thankful to the government for this wonderful imitative that has given a big boost to their self-confidence.
