Two injured in firing incident in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, April 24, 2019: Two persons were injured in a firing incident in the thickly populated area – inside Delhi Gate, Ferozepur City near Dhingra Restaurant. Both were admitted in the Civil Hospital Trauma Ward and reported to be out of danger.
As per the information, Arun son of Raj Kumar and Vikram son of Ashok Kumar of Basti Nizamudin – both said to be close relative, had gone to the bazaar to purchase something, when one scooter-borne person hit Vikram. Later on, over a scuffle, he allegedly hit the butt of the pistol in Vikram’s head and other two persons who too were having the pistols, fired which punched on his thigh.
Immediately they were rushed to the Civil Hospital and were reported to be out of danger while the first aid was going on.
Both – Arun and Vikram informed that they don’t have any enmity with anyone.
Added here, the Model Code of Conduct is already in force due to LS Polls in Punjab on May and orders to deposit the arms have already been issued by the administration. As per the information, still some licenced weapon holders are yet to deposit their weapons. Only the CCTV footage of the near the incident places, if available, could reveal the identity of the three persons who opened fired at them and fled away from the scene.
SSP Ferozpur Sandeep Goel confirmed the incident as road rage when both the vehicles hit each other. However, we will put them behind the bar within 24 hours. We will deal them with heavy hand.
