First phase-First dose of Covid vaccination to start from Jan. 16 in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, January 14, 2021: In the first phase of Covid vaccination to be started from January 16, 4,946 persons will be covered at seven health centres, said Deputy Commissioner, Gurpal Singh Chahal while presiding over the District Level Task Force meeting. Rajdeep Kaur, ADC(G), and Dr.Rajinder Raj, Civil Surgeon were also present on this occasion.
Addressing the meeting, DC said, the Covid vaccination in the district will start from January 16 for 15 days from 9 am to 5 pm and in the first phase 4,946 persons of government service, private health centers employees, Asha and Anganwadi workers, will be covered.
DC directed the concerned departments to cooperate in making this campaign successful especially the electricity department to ensure undisrupted power supply on the day of vaccination. He also asked the health department officials to make arrangements for generator also.
Putting wiser in detail the present officers and officials, SMO Dr.Megha Parkash from World Health Organization and Javed Ahmad from UNDP said, two doses of Corona vaccine will be given with a gap of 28 days.
Dr.Rajinder Raj, Civil Surgeon said in the first phase 7 vaccination centers – CHC Guruharsahai, Zira, Mamdot, Ferozshah, Makhu, Civil Hospital and Baghi Hospital have been earmarked and this number can be increased on need basis. The first dose will be given to 100 persons at each center, in a single day at 7 centers.
On this occasion, District Immunization Officer Dr. Dr. Satpal Bhagat , District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Sushma Thakur, Deputy Medical Commissioner Rajinder Manchanda , SMO Dr. Ferozepur Dr.Meenakshi , SMO Mamdot, Ranjiv Bains , SMO Ferozshah Dr.Vanita Bhullar, officials of various departments, Secretary Red Cross Ashok Behl , Executive Officer, Municipal Council Parminder Singh, and District Mass Media Officer Ranjiv were also present.
