Spurious pesticides sellers booked in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, July 18, 2017: On the complaint of Agriculture Development Officer Makhu, Palvinder Singh, three persons namely Makhan Singh of Bathinda, Kulwant Singh of Patti and Baljit Singh of Tarn Taran have been arrested by the police for pursuing the farmers to purchase spurious pesticides.
As per the information, the so called dealers were carrying the pesticides in a Blaro vehicle bearing registration No.PB-29M 8509 without any license or permit to sell the same.
A recovery of 54.500 kg Methyl and 662.759 kg Vardan pesticides along with the vehicles were seized from the so-called dealers.
Balraj Singh, IO investigating in to the matter informed that all three were arrested from near Bangali Wala Pul around 6.10 pm on registration of case under Sections 420, 468, 471 and 34 IPC and Insecticides Act 1968, 29(1)C – imports or manufactures any insecticide without a certificate of registration – at police station, Makhu.
