SHO Mamdot suspended for negligence on duty during Panchayat Polls

Ferozepur, January 6, 2019: IGP Ferozepur Range, Mukhwinder Singh Cheena has ordered the suspension of Sub-Inspector, Ranjit Singh Kumar, SHO Mamdot police station for showing negligent attitude and dereliction of duty during the Panchayat Polls held on December 30.

It may be added here that a ballot box was set on fire by unknown persons in Lakhmir Ke Hittar village in Mamdot block of Ferozepur and the police officials posted at the polling stations failed to stop the attackers who forcibly entered the polling station.  When a group of miscreants entered into a polling booth, Mohinder Singh had died and set the ballot box on fire.  The miscreants later crushed him under their SUV car while trying to flee from the spot.

Another SHO Paramjeet Singh has been appointed at Mamdot police station till further orders.
