Sessions Judge inaugurates Legal Services Clinic
Ferozepur August 5, 2017: A free Legal Services Clinic set up by District Legal Services Authroity, was inaugurated here at local police station in the city by S.K.Aggarwal, District and Sessions Judge, Gurnam Singh, Addl. District and Sessions Judge and Gaurav Garg, SSP were also present on this occasion.
The Legal Services Clinic with a panel of advocates and volunteers of para-legal services, would run the legal-aid clinic established with the prime objective to make free legal services accessible to the poor, marginalized and weaker sections of society
He added that
Balwainder Singh, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority highlighted the aim of opening of Legal Services Clinic as to who are entitled to free legal services, modes of legal services and as to how can legal services can be availed of and where such legal services can be provided.
District and Sessions Judge, Ferozepur in his address, giving example of consulting the best physician in the event of any physical problem said, the Legal Services Clinic equipped with para-legal volunteers will work as ‘Pehredar’ – sentinel for the poor and weaker section of the society to protect their legal rights.
He said, in Ferozepur District, 10 Legal Services Clinic have been opened in the Saanjh Kendras to provide free legal services.
Gaurav Garg, SSP Ferozepur said, the purpose of starting of Legal Services Clinic is to bring down the graph of litigation.
District and Sessions Judge while planting trees in the police station campus said, we all must plant trees and it is our duty to see them grown up by taking care of them so that in future we could enjoy the pollution free environment and save ourselves from diseases.
Present among others were Kirandeep Singh, Civil Judge, Rajvir Singh, SP(H) and para legal volunteers.
