SEIZURE OF 01 AK-47 RIFLE, 02 AK-47 MAGAZINES AND 52 LIVE ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION BY BORDER SECURITY FORCE FEROZEPUR     

      Ferozepur 20 Nov.15( A.C.Chawla)Border Security Force personnel have successfully seized 01 AK-47 Rifle, 02 AK-47 Magazines and 52 Live Rounds of Ammunition on Punjab Border on 20^th  November’ 2015 in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Tapu, Ex- 191 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur.Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border due to ongoing cultivation/ tilling season, Shri Anil Paliwal, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the menace of narcotics smuggling and activities of Anti National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, Shri R K Thapa, DIG, SHQ BSF Ferozepur directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of smugglers/Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers. Specific information regarding smuggling of narcotics/ arms and ammunition through International Border were being received. Accordingly, BSF troops were put on extra alert. On 20^th Nov’ 2015 at about 1245 hrs, BSF Kissan Guard party recovered 01 AK-47 Rifle, 02 AK-47 Magazines and 52 Live Rounds of Ammunition from the fields ahead of Border Security Fence in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Tapu, Ex- 191 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur. The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India. In continuing with its drive against heightened activities of smugglers/Anti-National Elements, BSF has effected  under mentioned seizures on Punjab Border during the year 2015
