SBS Technical Campus bagged Outstanding Technical Institution Award from NITTTR

Ferozepur, September 12,2016 : Renowned Technical Campus “Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus Ferozepur” situated in the border belt achieved another milestone for being awarded with “Outstanding Technical Institution Award” under Best Engineering Colleges Category for the year 2015-16.

This Award is given by National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Chandigarh (NITTTR) and is given to three Best Engineering Colleges from Northern Region eight states comprising of J&K, HP, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, Uttrakhand and Rajasthan and one U.T. Chandigarh. This Award has added another feather to its cap.

The award comprising of a Certificate and a Shield was received by Campus Director, Dr T. S. Sidhu; Principal Poly Wing Prof. Gazal Preet Arneja and Dean TEQIP Dr. Neel Kanth Grover. The Chief Guest during this Award Ceremony was Dr. Sarit Kumar Das, Director IIT Ropar. Other dignitaries present during this Annual Day function was Dr Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor MRS PTU, Bathinda, Prof (Dr) Kanan M Moudgalya, Professor IIT Bombay and Dr. K. K. Talwar, Chairman BOG, NITTTR, Chandigarh. Dr. M. P. Poonia, Director of NITTTR, Chandigarh congratulated the faculty, staff and students of S. B. S. State Technical Campus for this great achievement.

As many as 19 Engineering Colleges from this northern region have applied for this prestigious award. Three Institutions were awarded on this occasion from Engineering College Category. The Award has been constituted by National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Chandigarh (NITTTR) with the objective of honouring institutions delivering quality technical education in the Northern India.

The Award recognizes the performance of the institution during last three years of the institutions which contribute significantly towards the overall quality of technical education in making their students more competent and employable.

All the faculty, staff and students were in joyous mood for getting this esteemed award. On this occasion, Camus Director, Dr. T. S. Sidhu, congratulated all faculty, staff and entire team for this great achievement and hoped that Engineering Wing will keep on moving in direction of achieving excellence in Technical Education and achieve great heights.

Dr. Sidhu, Director Campus, told that this Award is very special and distinct as there was lot of completion for this prestigious award. He told that last year (2015) this Award was bagged by Polytechnic Wing of this Campus under Best Polytechnic College category. He also shared that the staff, faculty and students are highly motivated by this prestigious award.
