Run for Unity on birthday of Sardar Patel organized in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, October 31, 2017: On the eve of celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday as National Unity Day, Race for Unity was organized with the swearing-in ceremony for the unity, integrity, and self-reliance to maintain country’s security.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, Ramvir, along with Police Chief Bhupinder Singh, SSP, remembering the vision and work shown to strengthen the unity of the country appealed to the present employees and officers, to generate a feeling of unity for the country, besides administering the oath for their dedication to the nation.
Earlier, the Run for Unity march – with the participation of schools, colleges, sports academies players, heads of various departments, employees and jawans of Punjab Police and BSF – was flagged by Vaneet Kumar ADC Ferozepur, Ranjit Singh, Asstt.Commssioner by showing the green flag from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium. The Run for Unity ended back at the stadium covering railway station, DAV College road, DC Modle Schools, Pilot Kamboj Chowk, Sher Shah Wali, ML Bhaskar chowk, Sargarhi gurdwara and the police line.
Deputy Commissioner said that the purpose of this race is to strengthen the national unity and integrity of the people and to make people aware of the path shown by Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.
In this unity race, the district administrations honored the participants who stood at the first, second and third places. On this occasion, a march past was also organized in the city and cantonment by the soldiers of the Punjab Police and BSF jawans.
On this occasion, V Nagarajav, Narinder Kumar Deputy Commandant BSF, District Sports Officer Balwant Singh, Jagdeep Pal Singh and officials of various departments were also present.
