Red Ribbon Club organizes introductory session on Break the Stigma under Psychiatry Awareness Programme

Ferozepur November 16, 2018:  The Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit of RSD College Ferozepur City today organized a Psychiatry Awareness Programme- an introductory session on Speaking Up #Break the Stigma.

The stigma is a sign of social unacceptability and breaking the stigma is associated with mental illness. Though many people work hard to set aside these stigmas yet there is still much distance to go the bridge the gap created by stigmas which can be recovered with appropriate treatment, a strong support system of friends and family and by engaging supportive and interesting work environment.

The key-note speaker was Dr.Vivek Attri, MBBS, DPS(Psychiatry) delivered a lecture on mental disease.  During his address, he said, the mental disease is now curable and one should not hide about this.  With continuous counselling, exercises and by taking medicines some diseases are cured but with the regular medication, one can live his life in a better way.

The staff and students joined the introductory session which was followed by an interactive session with the doctor.
