Recovery of mobiles from high-security zone in jail exposes security chinks in jail

Ferozepur, January 16, 2022: The recovery of two mobiles, one headphone from gangster under-trial prisoner during a surprise checking on a tip-off of high-security zone ‘ahata’ number 1, chakki number 9, during the search operation has exposed the security chinks in Ferozepur Jail. The recovery of mobiles and other banned items remained in the news due to smuggling in and throwing from over the high jail walls.

During the search operation, one mobile with battery and SIM card was recovered from under-trial prisoner Chamkaur Singh.  During further search operation of ‘ahata’ number 1 with battery and SIM card and one headphone.

A case under Prisons Act has been registered on the complaint of Beant Singh, Assistant Superintendent and further investigations are on with special focus on usage of mobile phone by the jail inmate.
