Recovery of 5 mobiles from jail puts focus back on lax security
Ferozepur, April 13, 2022: There is no let-up in the recovery of mobiles from jail inmates and it has put the focus back on lax security arrangements in the prison as five mobiles have been recovered today from the inmate and lying unclaimed in the barracks. Recovery of mobiles has put a question mark on the security arrangements of the jail and security threat as well.
This is not the first time that such devices have been recovered inside jail premises. Earlier also, two mobiles on one day and one mobile on the second day were recovered from the jail inmates.
As per the details, on Tuesday, four mobiles with batteries, chargers, and SIM cards were recovered during the search operation by Sukhjinder Singh Assistant Superintendent and his team members from barracks numbers 1, 2 and 3 lying on the backside or near the LCD. While one mobile with SIM card was recovered from prisoner Bhupinder Singh, in chakki number 3.
The purpose of keeping the jail inmates away from worldly affairs outside the high four walls is lost.
However, a case under the Prisons Act has been registered against the jail inmate and an unidentified person. Further investigations are underway with the Pawan Kumar, IO, to ascertain how the banned items were sneaked into the jail campus and with a special focus on the purpose of their usage.
