Primary teachers wait for promotion since 15 years, GTU to start protest

Ferozepur, January 20, 2018: The primary teachers in the state are waiting for their promotions under 25 percent direct quota for the last more than 15 years but the education department is sleeping over the issue.

Speaking on this occasion, Govt Teachers Union, Ferozepur, Balwinder Singh Bhutto, Senior President, Rajiv Handa, General Secretary, Jaswinder Singh Mamdot and Balwinder Singh Chaba, Finance Secretary said, in the past many teachers have retired waiting for promotions and many are likely to retire, but the department has not been able to escape for their craving sleep. 

Giving more information, Union Press Secretary Neeraj Yadav said that the Primary Education Department has not directly promoted teachers (Head Teacher, Center Head Teacher, BPEO) for almost for the last 15 years.

The union is struggling for the rights of teachers' rights and also this demand was made in the meetings of the union with the top officials of the Minister and Education department. The union was given the understanding that D.P was coming soon to consider the promotion cases.

Sandeep Tandon, Gaurav Munjal, Sanjeev Tandon said it is not understood as to why the teachers are not being promoted to master cadres and the department is not ready to break the silence.  It looks that the education department is testing the patience of the teachers instead of fixing the responsibility for this delay.

Present among others on this occasion were – Sanjeev Handa, Bhupinder Singh Zira, Amit Soni, Krishan Chopra, Baljinder Singh, Rajinder Singh Raja, Rajveer Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Kamalpuri, Sanjay Chaudhary, Surinder Narula, and Tarlok Bhatti.
