Police gets 6 days remand of 3 cops for falsely implicating two persons in drug case

Drug money case may fall on more officialsFerozepur, July 28, 2022:  The three police personnel ASI Angrez Singh and Head Constable Joginder Singh and ASI Rajpal, arrested following a joint operation of the Punjab Police with their Himachal counterparts, were today produced in the court of  Ashok Kumar Chauhan, CJM-cum-Addl. Civil Judge (Senior Division) Court Room No.5, were remanded for 6 days police remand.

Initially, a case was  registered by Rajpal Singh, ASI – who later on has also been implicated and booked in this case –  under No.0088  on July 20, 2022 at Cantt police station against Kanwaljit Singh of Jamalpur Police Commissionerate Ludhiana and Gautam Parik.  It is alleged that they are involved in heroin smuggling and booked under NDPS Act.

Another case under NDPS Act was registered under Ho.90 on July 25, 2020 on the complaint of Bhanwar Lal Parik son of Mala Ram Parik resident of Bikaner (Rajasthan) against Inspector Parminder Singh Bajwa, Angrez Singh, SI and Hav Joginder Singh of Narcotic Control Cell Ferozepur along with 4-5 unidentified persons.

The dismissed Police Personnel – Inspector Parminder Singh Bajwa, ASI Angrej Singh, and Head Constable Joginder Singh, a trio posted at Narcotic Control Cell in Ferozepur – were terminated for falsely implicating 2 persons in drug case and extorting huge sum of money. However, Inspector Parminder Singh Bajwa along with two accomplice cops planted 1 kg heroin and showed recovery of Rs.5 lakhs from two persons and also extorted money from them against the payment of Rs.86 lakhs. Inspector Bajwa is yet to be arrested by the police

According to the preliminary investigation, DGP has stated that it has come to the fore that the accused cops had concocted the entire matter and implicated both persons wrongly to extort money from them. When the accused cops were confronted regarding the allegations during a detailed inquiry, they had no clarification and later, they also absconded mysteriously further raising the suspicion.However, Rajpal ASI before appearing in the court,  named DSP Surinder Bansal who had implicated him to save persons from Ludhiana alleging having relations with him.

Adish Kumar, Advocate counsel for the alleged accused informed that the court has granted 6 days police remand and they will be produced in the court of August 2.  However, there will be a daily medical check-up and videography of any recovery in the presence of Executive Magistrate and three respected local persons.  He further said, the recovery was made in the presence of DSP Fateh Singh Brar, who has not been mentioned anywhere in this case. The cases have been registered without any inquiry or notice to the dismissed employees.
