Police foils attempt of throwing banned items over high walls of jail

Ferozepur, May 16, 2022:  The CIA staff wing of  Ferozepur Police foiled the attempt of throwing arms, drugs and other banned items with the arrest of two persons.

Divulging with details, SSP Ferozepur Charanjit Singh informed that a tip-off was received by CIA staff SI Jajpal Singh that two persons in connivance with the jail inmates throw the drugs and other banned items inside the jail over the high walls.  Working actively on the input, the IA staff intercepted two motorbike persons and on search, 100 gm of heroin, 40 sachets of tobacco, five bundles of bidis, one pistol 7.65 mm with two live cartridges.

During the current year, 171 mobiles have been recovered from inside the jail to date while more than 300 were seized during the last year besides other banned items.  Now recovery of the pistol from the accused has foiled the attempt of happening anything inside the jail.

Both the accused have been identified as Jacob alias Jacky and Banti of Ferozepur City and booked under NDPS and Arms Act and further investigations are on with Jajpal Singh, IO.

However, the security around the jail has been intensified by deploying the staff in civil uniform, to keep an eye on any throwing activity.
