PCA to discuss new drug policy of Health Deptt on April 9 at Patiala

Ferozepur, April 8, 2017:  The Punjab Chemists Association will hold is state level meeting at Patiala on April 9 against the new drug policy of the health department by tightening of nose of chemists in the state as a part of campaign by the newly elected government, to eradicate drug menace from Punjab within a period of one month.

The problem in Northern Indian state of Punjab for the new government is not jobs or corruption but the drug abuse for which various measures have to be taken up with strong hands.

Confirming that no license of any chemists has been cancelled so far by the Health Department, Sham Lal Kakkar, Secretary, Chemists Association from Ferozepur said, the state body of chemists association has called a meeting at Patiala on April 9, to discuss the new policy of the government to deal with the chemists with regard to cancellation of licences for selling the drugs without issuing any proper bill. 

Sources said, the license of certain chemists in the city has been cancelled but there was no official confirmation on this account.  However, stocks of medical stores are being checked and in case of any sale without billing and proper prescription, action under the laws will be initiated against the concerned chemist.
