Pak based Foundation remembers Bhagat Singh’s associate Sukhdev Thapar on 116th birthday

Ferozepur, May 15, 2023: Sukhdev Thapar – a close associate of Bhagat Singh in the movement of freedom of India, was remembered today in Lahore, for the first time, by Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation, on his 116th birthday anniversary.

On Martyrs’ Day, also knowns as Shaheed Diwas or Sarvodaya Day, Indians also pay homage to the martyrs who infused fresh blood in the fight for India’s independence.

Remembering the martyr Sukhdev Thapar, a cake was cut at Bagh Jinah, Lawrence Garden, Lahore, under the leadership of  Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi Chairman Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation, Lahore (Pakistan). In this event, Noor Muhammad Kasuri, Chairman Pak India Business Council, Dr. Shahid Naseer, Madam Nosheen Javed, Madam Afshan Latif, Naushad Hameed, former advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Mirza Aamir Advocate, Rana Shahid, senior journalist, Abdullah Mansoor and other personalities participated in this event.

Speaking on the occasion, Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi Chairman Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan said that people like Sukhdev Thapar are born after centuries.  Just at the age of 23, Sukhdev Thapar along with Bhagat Singh and Rajguru, were hanged, in the case of murder of Saunderus in  Lahore Jail, on March 23, 1931. Their execution spurred many youth to take up the revolutionary path, playing a vital role in energizing the fight against the British empire.

He said, these revolutionaries, became immortal forever and continued to shine in the darkness and we are indebted to this great warrior.  Now, remembering in our memories will keep him alive for times to come.
