Ferozepur, April 16, 2020: The Ferozepur police have booked one person under NDPS Act on the recovery of heroin and habit-forming drugs from him, by the patrolling party, keeping an eye on the suspicious persons.
Giving this information, SSP Ferozepur informed that during the checking operations by putting up ‘naka’ by the patrolling parties to keep an eye on the suspicious persons, a tip-off was received that one person identified as Dharampreet Singh of village Chandiwala is a drug paddler and he is going to village Bare Ke to sell the drugs and heroin. Our patrolling teams are keeping a ‘cat-eye’ on such anti-social elements.
Acting swiftly on the in-put, Pippal Singh, SI along with his team, intercepted the accused from the backside of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Samadh, Link Road Hussainiwala and on search, 400 habit-forming drugs of Lubitic RS tablets and 20 gm heroin was found from his possession.
A case under Sections 21, 22, 61 and 85 of NDPS Act has been registered against Dharampreet Singh of village Chandiwala at Sadar Police Station, Ferozepur. Pippal Sing SI has been appointed as IO in this case and further investigations are on to crack the real supply chain, he added.
