Negligible positive percentage in Dope Test during Police recruitment process
Ferozepur, July 29, 2016: With the negligible positive percentage in ‘Dope Tests’ of candidates appearing for physical tests for the post of sepoy in Punjab Police Department in Ferozepur, which proves that the use of drugs among the youths is not as is being exaggerated by certain class.
The dope tests are conducted to ascertain presence of five types of drugs – morphine, benzodiazepines, marijuana, amphetamine, propoxyphene – in the applicants’ body.
R.K.Bakshi, SSP Ferozepur informed that on the third day,out of 282 candidates gone under dope test, only four had been found positive which is a very insignificant.
In all, so far 1012 candidates have been examined in three days. On 27th 366 candidates had been gone under dope tests while on 28th July there were 364 candidates and on 29thJuly 282 candidates went under Dope test. Among them only 1.5 to 2 percent had been found positive which is not very high.
To make the recruitment process totally transparent, police line help deskhas been set up as per directions of the Deputy Chief Minister and In case of any complaint one can dial, vigilance toll free number 1800-1800-1000, and AIG Recruitment Board 9592941010,he added.
He further said that if any mediator ask anybody to pay on pretext to arrange the job of the constable, he or she can call on these phone numbers and the police administration will respond immediately.
