National Apprenticeship Fair first time in Punjab at ITI Ferozepur
Ferozepur, July 8, 2022: After pass-out the various diploma courses from the Industrial Training Institute, the students were facing the problem for enrollment for apprenticeship training, to become eligible for a regular job in any institution. The Punjab government under the National Apprenticeship programme is organizing National Apprenticeship Fair (NAF) for the first time in Punjab.
Number of course are available in ITI, Ferozepur like Machinist, Motor Mech., Diesel Mech, Tractor Mech, Carpenter Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Turner and Wireman. However, due to shortage of staff, only 38 against 108 posts, certain trades have been withheld. Presently, there are around 310 students studying, in the institute.
One such fair will be organized on July 11, 2022 in the campus of Government Industrial Training Institute (Boys) at Ferozepur in which senior officers from different companies will be available. The District Bureau and Employment Enterprises (DBEE) is also taking a special interest for providing opportunities to the pass-out students.
In this context, a meeting was also held today with Rajesh Kumar, Principal and Satnam Chand, Apprenticeship Advisor in which detailed discussions were held to take steps to contribute to deal with the unemployment. Satnam Chand said, in this NAF, Ranbir Singh Bhullar, MLA will also join to encourage the students.
He also made an appeal to the students to avail the benefit of this NAF to the maximum, to help in reducing the unemployment in the state. He also said, as many as 270 students have registered so far to participate in the first time NAF being organized at Ferozepur and this registration figure is top in the state.
