Mohali Land Scam: PROA threatened to continue strike to support Tehsildar falsely nabbed by VB

Gursewak Singh Bhullar, Divisional President of PROA said, there are clear instructions from the Financial Commissioner (Revenue) that without any departmental enquiry, no revenue official can be arrested and even a case is registered.  But the Vigilance Bureau, on the pretext of holding the inquiry, called Kuldip Singh, Tehsildar, Bassi Pathana in the office and arrested him.

He said the work in other divisional offices of Moga, Fazilka and Muktsar has been put to hold with a warning to the government that in case the Vigilance Department continues to be adamant ignoring the rules and regulations, the strike by the revenue officials wills a long way.

Jaswant Singh, Pawan Kumar Gulati, Beant Singh Sidhu, Gursewak Singh Bhullar, Vijay Kmar Behal and Miss Luvpreet Kaur were present in the meeting.

Added here, the Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Sunday arrested Bassi Pathana tehsildar in a case of embezzlement of funds pertaining to the acquisition of Jheourheri village shamlat land for the international airport in Mohali.  In a statement, the bureau said Kuldip Singh, who was posted as tehsildar, Bassi Pathana, allegedly helped two main accused sarpanch Gurpal Singh and Mohammad Suhel Chauhan in the case of getting land registered fraudulently.

The Vigilance claimed that Dhillon received a bribe of Rs 17 lakh from the accused and was instrumental in execution of Rs 6.35-crore scam.
