Ferozepur, June 2, 2024:  It was 65.95% voted in Ferozepur during the polling long on June 1 for Lok Sabha elections as per the Voter Turnout APP updated, which is less by 6.34% as compared to 2019 of 72.29%, perhaps due to hot weather conditions.  Despite various efforts by the SVEEP team, the target percentage of 70% could not be maintained.

It was 80% per cent voting in Kaluwala – an island-like village covered with Sutlej from three sides and one side surrounded with barbed wire, touching the international border. Out of a total of 157 votes in this village, 125 votes were polled by ferrying them in motor boats of the Army, which comes to 80 per cent.

The polling process in Ferozepur was almost peaceful except few incidents like the EVM problem at one polling booth in Mamdot, a viral polling video for Surinder Kamboj BSP candidate at Jiwan Arain booth number 53, who was booked on this account and face-to-face between AAP MLA Bhullar with Anumit Singh Sodhi, son of BJP candidate Rana Sodhi and of course when DC was not recognized at the polling centre at the same polling booth.  Visually impaired Vishnu was seen very excited on casting his vote saying of high expectations from whosoever forms the government for the blind community.

    The highest in Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency is 71.00% in Fazilka and the lowest is 59.10% in Ferozepur City.
