Kissan Unions submit memorandum to the Government, demands roll back of Amended Land Acquisition Ordinance 2014
Ferozepur, April 1, 2015: On a call from Coordination Committee, the Kissan Unions today staged protest in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner and later submitted a memorandum in the name of government demanding roll back of Amended Land Acquisition Ordinance 2014.
Addressing the protesters, the Union leaders said, the Centre government led by Modi and its sworn alliance party SAD in Punjab are moving towards to crush the farmers badly and the common man. Despite protest throughout in the country, Modi government is standing in favour of Land Acquisition Ordinance and wants to acquire the lands of the farmers without their consent.
The further said, the government is also placing the farmers community at the mercy of the multi-national companies and business houses by disbanding the Food Corporation of India.
They also demanded a suitable compensation to the farmers for the damage of their crops due natural calamities.
Making an appeal to the farmer’s community to come forward to join hands to fight for their rights and continue to fight till the rollback of Land amended Acquisition Ordinance 2014 and Lok Sabha Bill 2015.
Apart from others, Gurmit Mehma, District Secretary, Bharti Kissan Union Krantikari, Jarnail Singh Sodhi Nagar, Bhag Singh Markhai, President and Bagicha Singh Genral Secretary, Bharti Kissan Union Ugraha Ferozepur, Gurpreet Singh, Darbana Singh Block President, Rajinder Singh Molvi Wala, Bittu Wagah, Baldev Zira, of BKU, Zail Singh Chappa Ariki, General Secretary, Krantikari Pendu Mazdoor Union and Gurmit Singh Fouji were also present.
