Ferozepur April 19, 2019: On 100th anniversary of Jallianwala Bagh massacre, the Archives Department of Punjab Government of Pakistan is organizing the exhibition of rare documents pertaining to brutal massacre in Lahore from April 20.
Speaking to Babushah.com on phone from Lahore, Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi told that the Archives department has agreed to display the rare documents after persistent demands by many, who wanted to recognize the massacre and make it part of school syllabus so that each one should know as to what prompted them to such a drastic action.
Earlier, the Lahore based Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation, Chairman Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi had arranged the exhibition of documents pertaining to Bhagat Singh case in March 2018 at Lahore especially the FIR which had no mention of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev – and people evinced keen interest in them.
Qureshi said, our wounds are still fresh and will not sit silently till justice is done to the victims. Qureshi is already pursuing the innocence of Bhagat Singh and his associates in the court of law and with the Pakistan government to issue a postage stamp in memory of victims of massacre and name a road as a reminder of the massacre.
Besides, the Foundation has also demanded unconditional apology from British government and provide heavy compensation to the descendants of the massacre victims as only regret is not enough, he said.
