Introduce PET for politicians on the pattern of TET – Message goes viral on social media
Ferozepur November 6, 2017: A message has gone viral on the social media to introduce PET – Political Entrance Test on the pattern of TET – Teacher Eligibility Test.
The motive behind this message looks to be to create awareness among the people to raise this demand that the political leaders should also be an educated class as certain politicians, are not well educated, but have to take administrative decisions in the public interest.
The message has gone viral in the various teachers groups who are fed up from the existing political system as no employee-friendly decisions have been taken by the previous as well as the existing Congress government on coming into plower, with regard to their genuine demands like regularization of contractual staff, restoration of old pension scheme.
Taking to the representative of Government Teachers Union, Rajinder Singh, he said, the message has been rightly circulated whosoever has done it. When the teachers are subject to TET – Teachers Eligibility Test, then why not the politicians, who are supposed to take decisions, on very sensitive issues to run the state affairs.
He said the teachers are protesting for their rights since long but the government has failed to take any action on our demands. He further said, even the Chief Minister has not given a time for a meeting with the union representatives despite fixing five times, which itself speaks the anti-employee attitude of the government.
The Contractual Employees Union on Sunday protested through exhibition of various posters. One such poster was issued comparing the logics of MLA and Contact/Outsource employees to decide as to who really deserves.
Rajinder Singh said, only an education politician can understand the problem of educated class and Election Commission of India should think over introducing the minimum qualification to join the politics.
