Manpreet Singh Badal, Congress leader – Advisor for Congress Election Manifesto – speaking at the massive gathering at Lakho Ke Behram in the hall and outside today at the maiden Workers Meeting in Guruharsahi Constituency represented by Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Congress MLA for the third consecutive term – said, “I see Punjab’s changed destiny from massive gathering”.

Thousands of Congress workers and leaders including Vijayinder Singla former MP were present on this occasion.

Manpreet Badal in his address using adjectives in appreciation of the dedication of Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi said, I have come to win your hearts by showing the clear picture of the vision of the Congress party.

Touching the unemployment, education and health services in the state,

Manpreet said, Since you have come with high expectations from us on unemployment, education facility and health services in the state, I too have come with great prospect.

He said, the lines on the palm and destiny on the forehead are not made by the God, you just cooperate with the Congress to differentiate between thief and sentinel and see a sea-change.

He appealed to the people to support Rana Sodhi for 4th term also in the coming elections.

Addressing the media persons, Manapreet Badal said, Manifesto isa road map as to how to bring the Punjab on the right track not only on economic and social position  rather from all points of view.

He said politics is a science and if you do this, there will be prosperity and if you do that, there will be destruction.  Congress has take out Punjab in crisis two times.  No one could expect that the terrorist will be eradicated from the state, Congress did it.  Secondly, when no country was willing to give loan to India and 21 ton gold was sent to Singapore during the tenure of Congress.

Congress will come up with policies like that Punjab is again on the right track  and wheel of business starts moving and smoke is seen coming out of the chimneys of the industries.

Talking about the manifesto based on the demand of the people of Punjab, he said, the youths could earn their livelihood  with dignity, in other words a small business, good health of the old parents with availability of health services and relief from ‘tehsildars and thanedars’.  The proposed slogan for Congress Manifesto is ‘Padhai Te Davai”- “.Education and Health” which is like a foundation for erecting any palace.

On asking about pointing out by an old man for pension to farmers crossing 65 years age, like giving retirement to politicians announced, he said, we will announced old age pension of Rs.2000 per month rather it will be all categories.  At the same time, our priority in the manifesto as to what will be source of revenue to fulfill our all promises and provide work-out figures.

Replying  about the unemployment, he said, when only four months are left for announcement of model code of conduct, it is only in their speeches as only 7000 posts have been advertised in police which process will take two months time.  It looks that Badals don’t have any interest in Punjab and the state is like a ‘Shikargah’ –Game-ward – for them and Punjab state is keeping two helicopters with huge investments.

On SYL issue, he said, Modi has double standards, it can be withdrawn also. Modi is not withdrawing from the court. Capt Amninder Singh has put his CM’s post on stake on this issue.  Congress has no option except to submit resignation. He said, the Badals should stop dealing with the future of the coming generations.

On Navjot Singh Sidhu joining the Congress – giving a reference of tug-of-war game and himself joining the Congress by leaving the Akali government and started a new party – he said, Congress party has given me responsibility of writing the manifesto. The ventilators and doors of political classes are never closed, it is for them to decide.  Neither we are actively pursuing them to join us, nor our doors are closed, he added.

On Bhagwant Mann, there is need to understand between star and  leader, said Manpreet. Pointing out towards, Rana Sodhi, he said, leaders are like him who has to sacrifice for the sake of people and stars are not long term passengers, they have short term values.

Earlier, Vijayinder Singla former MP in his address also accused Nony Maan, Halqa Incharge Guruharsahai running ‘sand mafia’ in the area, under the influence of Badal government and said, there has been atrocities on every class during their 9 years tenure.

Targeting the AAP, Singla said, Arvind Kejriwal party stands exposed in the MC elections at Delhi where AAP could get only 5 seats.

Touching the issue of doing drug business in the state, the leaders of the government itself are doing it in connivance with the police.

Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi welcoming one and all said, I have no words to convey my thanks to all of you for giving a huge response on the single call, becoming my backbone to deal with any circumstances.

Referring to the electricity tariff, Sodhi said, As to where had been Badals for 9 years’ and now the elections are near, they have started talking about the cheaper rates in the country.

He too accused the Badal government for making a monopoly in sand, liquor and cable business in the state and made a reference of Sikandar-e-Azam, who too advised to keep my hands out of coffin to see that I am not taking anything along with me.

In an emotional tone, Rana Sodhi said, the Badal government is worthless and you have to bring me – Congress – in power to serve you more comfortably.

Rana Sodhi said, “Don’t believe in the rumours of my not contesting the coming elections from Guruharsahai, rather I will contest and win with your support and teach a lesson to them making such rumours.

Talking about the suicides by debt-ridden farmers, Sodhi said, it is happening all due to the anti-farmer policies of the government.

Present among others on this occasion were Rakesh Pandey Ex.MLA, Satkar Kaur Ferozepur Rural, Malkit Singh Heera, Iqbal Grewal President NSUI Punjab, Anumit Heera Sodhi, Raghu Sodhi, Guruhardeep Singh Sodhi, Gurdeep Singh Dhillon, Nasib Singh Sandhu, Davinder Jung, Vicky Sidhu, Kulwant Kataria and senior persons.
