GM NR MEETS SEECHEWAL AT SPLODHI

Ferozepur, November 22, 2015:  Ferozepur Division of Northern Railway was in headlines with regard to its proposal for bifurcation of Jammu Division and shifting of headquarters to Jalandhar.

On Saturday, A.K.Puthia, General Manager, Northern Railway, conducted annual inspection of Ferozepur Division along with his team comprising of senior officers from the headquarters.   He was accompanied by Anuj Parkash, DRM Ferozepur and other branch officers of Ferozepur Divison.  Inspection of various stations, colonies, bridges, level crossing gates and ongoing works on 118 kms long Jalandhar-Ferozepur section was carried out.

General Manager’s annual inspection is an age old tradition of the Indian Railways wherein the complete Railway infrastructure in one section in each of the division is inspected thoroughly and improvements required for the better of the quality of service being provided to the public is assessed.

Inspection was carried out at Jalandhar City, Kapurthala, Sultanpur Lodhi, Lohian Khas, Makhu and Ferozepur stations.  Inauguration of X-ray room and health camp at hospital done and inauguration of renovated new running room was done at Jalandhar City.  Besides, inauguration of LED lighting done at Jalandhar city, Kapurthala and Ferozepur Cantt and Solar Lighting System for Makhu station has been started.

General Manager had a meeting with Santhok Singh Choudhary MP Jalndhar who apprised him about the requirement of new trains in the section, cleanliness and station improvement of Jalandhar City station.  Shri Chaudhary also emphasized for the improvement of FOB and development of second entyry.

Baba Seechewala – most famous eco-activist, spearheading an anti-river pollution campaign – also met at Sultanpur Lodhi with General Manager and told that Sultanpur Lodhi station as adopted for plantation and improvement at station.

General Manager also had a meeting with the recognized union and associations of Indian Railways at VIP room of Ferozepur City and discussed issues relating to railway employees problems over Ferozepur Division.

A.K.Puithia appreciated the Nukkad natak on cleanliness and safe movement of vehicle on unmanned L-xing gate put by the participants.  Later, he witnessed the cultural programmes presented by the Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers of Ferozepur Division for their active participation and leaders for conducting the rally.

General Manager was satisfied with the out of annual inspection of Ferozepur Division.

During meet the press programme, GM ruled out any proposal for shifting of Ferozepur Divisional office to Jalandhar.e waHHHHHe
