Friday was a day of strikes by various organizations in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, August 6, 2016: Hardly there is any day, when there is no strike by one or other organizations protesting against the anti-employees policies, anti-farmers policies despite claiming of the government for over-all development during the past nine years of tenure of SAD-BJP alliance government in the state.
Strike, protests, dharnas, demonstrations, bundhs have become a regular feature throughout the state since long and the state government has not bothered to review each case to put an end to the protests and henceforth formulate policies keeping all the aspects raised by the protesters in view, to avoid wastage of time and loss to the government. The policy makers have to be serious while finalizing any policy, minutely studying the pros and cons, pluses and minuses to please all the classes, shared old timer retiree and social activists, Inder Singh Gogia, President,NGO Coordination Society Ferozepur.
On Friday, Punjab State Subordinate Services Federation observed a strike and organized a rally to regularize the employees and condemned the government for registration of false cases.
Followed by pen down strike by SSA RMSA Non-Teaching Staff Union to regularize their services who are working for the last 12 years and decided to hold a mega rally at the state level at Bahtinda on August 13.
Valmiki community also observed bundh in Ferozepur to ban the screening of The Legend of Michael Mishra for using the objectionable scenes and dialogues against Bhagwan Valmiki. However, the Punjab Government has already banned the screening of film for two months in the state followed by Chandigarh Admn also.
Punjab Roadways employees also hold a gate rally and warned to the government to accept their demands otherwise they will intensify the agitation. The demands include the introduction of old pension scheme besides other demands.
In another protest by PWD Field and Workshop Workers Union demonstrated to register their protest for demands for implementation of old pension scheme and threatened to proceed on national wide historical strike on September 2.
Here is not the end, Punjab Khet Mazdoor Sabha also sat on dharna in front of DC office, pressing for waiving off of loans of field labourers, allotting of work under MNREGA throughout the year,10 marla plots for homeless poor persons and minimum Rs.5000 old age pension.
