Ferozepur, January 11,2016: Today, Ex-Chief Parliamentary Secretary (R) and two times MLA from Ferozepur Sukhpal Singh “Nannu” hold a protest along with his hundreds of supporter in front of the SSP office by marching in open jeep from his residence. This time, the rebel Ex-BJP MLA targeted the police and raised question mark over their functioning.

During the protest Nannu alleged that two days ago the police have illegally arrested few youths belonging to the border villages and have booked them under NDPS cases. While addressing the enraged villagers and supporters, Nannu revealed that the CI wing had called two youth belonging to village Hajara Singh Wala for questioning. “Though, few of them were earlier involved in illegal activities, but their recent track record was neat and clean. Even the panchayat members of their village had extended full support to them. But later, when they found that two of them were booked by the police in NDPS cases, they felt cheated by the police”, said Nannu.

Nannu threatened that he will launch an agitation if the cases lodged against the two innocent youths identified as Balwinder Singh alias Babbu and Manjit Singh alias Meeta, both resident of Village Hajara Singh Wala, were not cancelled. “Throughout my life I have stood by with justice only. The police have booked these innocent youths without any reason and I am not going to tolerate this”, said Nannu. Nannu said that he is not raising the banner of revolt against state government or police department. “I just to want to bring the truth in front of all”, said Nannu.

Meanwhile when contacted Sulakhan Singh, DSP, Guruharsahai said that the allegation made by Sukhpal Singh Nannu are baseless and the police had arrested both the culprit with intoxicated substance…..
