Ferozepur, July 15, 2021:  Expressing pleasures over the zero Covid positive case in Ferozepur after lifting of the curbs, Senior Citizen Forum (SCF), President S.P.Khera said, there is a need to maintain this status by flowing the Covid protocols amid unlocking, to prevent the outbreak of third wave.

Today, no Covid positive case and death was reported in Ferozepur district after a long period.

As per the information, 2,20,353 samples of RTPCR, Rapid Antigen Test and Truenant were taken, out of which 2,05,887 were reported negative, 14,139 positive, 13,609 recovered, active cases 45 while the result of 327 samples were still awaited.   Since the outbreak of Coronavirus in this part, 486 deaths have been reported in the district.

Khera said, defying Covid protocols amid unlock may hasten a third wave while planning to attend functions, shopping without adhering to the Covid guidelines, a likely third wave may come sooner than anticipated as cautioned in the new report.

We continued to remain at home during the peak period and had not held any members’ meetings. Making an appeal to the citizens, Khera said, people must continue to keep visitors at home to the essentials and that too with the Covid protocols.

With the peak of the second wave well and truly behind us, there is a possibility of people assuming that the pandemic is now over. The coronavirus pandemic has been center stage in India’s public discourse since March 2020 when the country saw the first lockdown being imposed. People must cooperate in following the Corona appropriate behaviour making it a part of their life and must go in for vaccination on their turn which has positive results, said Dr.Yuvraj, Health Department.
