Ferozepur Railway Division suffered Rs.22.59 crore due to cancellation of 2994 trains in six months

Ferozepur, October 20, 2016:  Railway, known as the life line of India – suffered a huge loss of Rs.22.59.66.314 crores on account of cancellation of 2994 trains from April, 2016 to September 2016.

Sr.Divisonal Commercial Manager, Northern Railway, Ferozepur in a press release has informed that in all 566 trains except Kashmir valley and 2428 over Kashmir valley in Ferozepur Division were cancelled and the total loss is Rs.7.81.37.851 and Rs.14.78,28,463 crores.

The birfurcation of cancellation of trains was 38 in April, 89 in May, 5 in June, 101 in July, 308 in August, 25 in September in except Kashmir valley, while 598 in July, 930 in August and 900 in September over Kashmir Valley were cancelled.

Though, no reason is stated in the communication, but the loss of number of passengers earning in unreserved segment due to cancellation of trains over Ferozepur Division from April 2016 to September 2016 – six months – on account of technical grounds and agitations especially due to protests in Jammu and Kashmir valley.
