Ferozepur police recover 216 lost mobile phones, returned to owners

Ferozepur, January 24, 2023: A noble gesture by the Ferozepur police led 216 persons to get back their mobile phones today after either losing them with one or the other reason, in various police station areas, by tacking with the help of technical surveillance and returned to the rightful owners.
Divulging with the details at police line where the mobile owners were called to hand over to them the recovered mobiles, Kanwardeep Kaur, Senior Superintendent of Police said, now a days, the mobile phone has become an important part of life of every person and in the event of its missing, the concerned persons has to face lot of difficulty and financial loss as well. Taking cognizance of this situation, a campaign was started to trace the mobiles as per the complaints lodged at the different Saanjh Kendras by giving a responsibility to the in-charge technical wing, DPO. After working actively and with considerable efforts of the entire team, 216 missing mobiles were traced and today the same were handed over to the original owners after proper verification.
Making an appeal to the people, SSP said, in the event of finding any unclaimed mobile, they should deposit it with the nearest police station, without any fear or hesitation so that the same is arranged to be handed over to the respective owner to avoid unnecessary harassment and financial loss.
She said, the police have recently busted a gang of mobile snatchers and this campaign against the mobile snatchers will be a continued process, through checking at various points, by putting up the barricades and in future also, the traced mobiles, will be handed over to the owners. In case anyone wants to share any information about the activities of the anti-social elements, the same can be given in person or at the control room for proceeding further in the matter.
Earlier, if anyone would lose one’s mobile phone, he or she would lodge an FIR with the police station concerned. The chances of getting back the lost handsets were very meager. Some of these devices were lost long back and the owners were surprised to get their phones back from the cops. All present thanked the Ferozepur police for tracing and handing over the mobiles.
