Ferozepur police probe into Karnal terror suspect case reveals more recovery from Akashdeep
Ferozepur, May 11, 2022: Following the arrest of four persons for terror links, including three from the border district, from Haryana’s Karnal a few days back, the security agencies and local police are very excited to bring more facts to the surface. The Ferozepur police probe into the Karnal terror suspect case has revealed more recoveries today from Akashdeep Singh, arrested by Ferozepur Police, during the interrogation on police remand, in the Karnal suspects’ case.
As a follow-up of the Karnal Terror suspect case, two more persons, identified as Akashdeep Singh and Jashanpreet were arrested by Ferozepur police, with a Scorpio car. Akashdeep during interrogation has revealed that drones used to drop arms in the fields belonging to his maternal grandmother Sarwan Kaur at Muthianwali village near Arifke along the Pakistan border. For this, they used to send the location to Pakistan-based terrorist Harwinder Singh Rida of Babbar Khalsa International.
It is pertinent to mention that the land along with the international border is considered as most costly that the gold mines and that is why the gangster has shaken hand with Akash, who worked as a courier, because of his maternal mother’s land along the international border.
Charanjit Singh, SSP Ferozepur during a press meet said, during further interrogation of Akashdeep of Ferozepur, the recovery of 2 pistols 9 mm, 78 live cartridges of 9 mm, and one laptop Lenovo, has been made from the designated place in village Dula Singh Wala.
SSP further said that a case on recovery of one grenade P-86 was found near village Sekhwan in Zira block on the roadside and a case under Section 3, 4 of Explosive Act was registered at Zira. During the trace, it has been revealed that the grenade was placed by Akashdeep alias Akash along with his accomplice Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi of village Vinjo Ke, on directions from Pakistan based terror Harinder Singh alias Rinda, which was to be lifted by an unidentified person as per his orders. However, the same was recovered well in advance.
The accused will again be produced in the court for getting police remand for further investigation, said SSP.
Earlier, four terror suspects identified as Gurpreet, Amandeep, Parminder, and Bhupinder were arrested by the Karnal police with recovery of three IEDs, a country-made pistol, and 31 live cartridges, 1.31 lakh cash, and 6 mobile phones recovered from them. They got explosives from Pakistan through drones and were tasked with carrying them to Adilabad in Telangana.
Among the arrested accused Bhupinder Singh is from Ludhiana and the other three Gurpreet Singh, Parminder Singh, and Amandeep Singh are from Ferozepur and were headed to Adilabad in Telangana to deliver a consignment of explosives. They were booked under FIR No.0141/5.5.2015 under Section 13 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967, Section 18 and 20 of Unlawful Activities Amendment Orders Act 04, Sector 4 and 5 of Explosives Substances Act, 1908, and 25 of Arms Act, 1959.
Earlier BSF had brought down a drone near Thatha Jaimal Singh BOP in the district and 21 kg of heroin was recovered. In November last year, the police had recovered a tiffin bomb in the fields at Alik Ke village also and the recovery was linked to the Jalalabad blast on Sept. 15, 2021, and later three suspects were arrested. In September 2019, a huge quantity of arms and ammunition were seized from the Mamdot. Since the security agencies were unable to ascertain the source of the consignment, it was presumed it was dropped by a drone.
