Ferozepur Police cracked Rs.7 lakh Zira loot case, 2 arrested
Ferozepur, March 2, 2021: With the arrest of two persons, the police today claimed to have cracked a case of robbery, within five days, in which a Salesman working with a private company was looted of Rs.7 lakhs along with important documents on February 25.
Divulging with details, SSP, Ferozepur Bhagirath Singh Meena said, Gopal Sharma resident of Kot Kapura working as Salesman with Som Brothers and Co and had come to Zira to collect payments. When he reached Bus Stand Zira, two motor-cycle borne youths, snatched the bag containing Rs.7 lakh cash, receipt book and other important documents.
SSP said, after collecting the technical evidence, scrutinizing the CTV footages, two persons Gurjit Singh of village Bamb and Gursewak Singh alias Vicky of Zira were arrested on Zira Kot Ise Khan Road with recovery of Rs.4.70 lakh along with motorcycle Deluxe, Sakoda Car HR 26 AH 7806 used during the loot.
He said, the accused had also done the recce before looting the youth. During the preliminary investigation, it has been revealed that while Gurjit Singh is already facing six criminal cases at Zira Kulgarhi police stations, under NDPS for recovery of heroin, Gursewak Singh is involved July, 2016 case under various Sections of IPC. Two more accused identified as Gurbakshish Singh and Jaskiran Singh involved in this case are absconding. However, the efforts are on to nab them with remaining recovery, who are still at large.
He said, the arrested accused will be produced in the court to get remand and during investigation, more clues are likely to come on the surface based on their past history. However, the anti-drug campaign against the anti-social elements and unscrupulous persons will continue in the future also.
