Ferozepur police crack kidnapping for ransom case within 6 hrs, recover child safely

Ferozepur, January 12, 2022:  The Ferozepur police solved the mystery of kidnapping of a child under the tutelage of a new SSP in Ferozepur Dr.Narinder Bhargav, on the first day.

Divulging with the details, SSP Dr.Narinder Bhargav said, a four-member team was constituted headed by SP(I) Maninder Singh, along with Jagdish Kumar, DSP(D), Jagdish Kumar Inspector, Parminder Singh Bajwa, in charge of CIA staff, and Manoj Kumar, SHO City, on receipt of a complaint of an Advocate Sanju Sharma, kidnapping of her child resident of Bedi Colony.

SSP said, as per the complaint, On January 11, evening around 5.40 pm, the child had gone for tuition on his Activa and he did not return timely and his mobile phone was also switched off.  However, at around 7.28, a video message and two messages were received saying that her son has been kidnapped and the kidnappers have guns and demanding ransom.  Later on, a call was received for ransom of Rs.20 lacs which was settled at Rs.5 lac otherwise face dire consequences.

Working swiftly, with the technical help and input sources, the team solved the kidnapping of mystery within six hours and nabbed three persons – Karan, Raj Singh were nabbed and further on their inputs, kidnapped child – Dev Viram – was recovered from their third accomplice – the mastermind, Amarjit Singh at village Doomni Wala.  The police also recovered – one pistol 32 bore with two rounds, one pistol 315 bore with two rounds, one motorcycle Deluxe without number, active of kidnapped child number PB-05-AN-9238, and three mobiles.  The prima-facie the recovered weapons are not a licensee.

He further said, during the preliminary investigation, it has come on the surface that Karan has some criminal background and was already wanted in some cases registered against him under Section 307 and declared as proclaimed offender. In the instant action of kidnapping was planned on getting motivated from the incidents in the movies and alleged that kidnapped child Dev Viram, with his Activa, had teased the sister of one of the accused. However, the accused will now be produced before the court to get police remand for further investigation and more clues are likely to come on the surface about their criminal background, SSP added.
