Ferozepur Police busts Inter State Arms Smuggler Gang, One arrested with recovery of live cartridges and magazines
Ferozepur, March 16: The Ferozepur police have busted an Interstate Arms Smugglers gang with the arrest of one person – Arwinder Singh son of Joginder Singh resident of Basti Mohar Singh Wali, Chak Roman Wali Jalalabad Distt Fazilka – along with recovery of 287 live cartridges and 4 magazines of .32 bore, said H.S.Mann SSP to the media persons.
Mann informed that under the supervision of Sulakhan Singh, PPS, DSP/Guruharsahi, Police party of PS Guruharsahai present for checking on Fuhara Chawk, Guruharsahai and received secret information that Harbhajan Lal resident of Pindi Police Station Guruharsahai, who runs a Bhajan Arms/Ammunition Shop at Mandi Guruharsahai is having license to deal with only 12 Bore Arms/Ammunition. But he is doing the sales/purchase of 32 Bore and 315 Bore Arms/Ammunition from the Arms Dealers of Haryana and Punjab and further sell these Arms/Ammunition to his costumers/criminals, illegally which increases the possibility of Gang-Wars. There is possibility of huge recovery of illegal arms/ammunition, if raided now.
He further stated that a case regarding Arms Act is already registered against Harbhan Lal's Son Kapil Dev in Distt Sirsa, Haryana in year-2014. Harbhan Lal also deputed Arwinder Singh son of Joginder Singh resident of Basti Mohar Singh Wali, Chak Romanwali, Jalalabad Distt Fazilka as a Manager at Bhajan Gun House, without any approval.
Both, Harbhajan Lal and Arwinder Singh, Manager, used to purchase Arms/Ammunition from various Gun Houses of Punjab and Haryana illegally and further sell the same to their costumers/criminals illegally and without any specific approval, he added.
On receipt of this information, the police party under the Supervision of Sulakhan Singh, PPS, DSP/Guruharsahai raided at Bhajan Gun house instantly and arrested Arwinder Singh on the spot. On searching the gun house, 250 Cartridges of 32 Bore Revolver, 17 cartridges of 32 Bore, 20 cartridges of 315 Bore total 287 Cartridges along with 04 Magazines were recovered from the scene.
An FIR No.42 dated 15.03.2015 U/s 25/54/59 Arms Act Police Station Guruharsahai has been registered and Arwinder Singh has been arrested.
During investigation, Arwinder Singh revealed that he is a relative of Harbhajan Lal and working on Bhajan Gun House for the last two years. Kapil Dev and Harbhajan Lal purchased Arms/Ammunition from Muktsar, Abohar and other various Gun houses of Punjab and Haryana and further sold them to their customers in his shop. The Arms/Ammunition seized from the Gun shop was purchased by Harbhan Lal himself. Further investigation is going on and involvement of others may come on surface.
